A free tier is only free if you can finish the job on it
The usual trap is spending an evening drawing a flat and finding you cannot export the plan, or that the render carries a watermark. Both vendors publish what their free tier includes, and the two lists differ in kind: Planner 5D's free plan is the design workflow with no time limit and sharing, while Homestyler's Basic tier is the 3D planner plus unlimited 1K rendering with free renders on limited items.
Check those two lists against your own job before you sign up. If you need a dimensioned plan, the first one fits. If you want an image of a furnished room, the second one does. Try the one that matches before you pay anything.
Where the paid tiers actually start
Planner 5D's paid route is simple and published in dollars: Premium at $19.99 per month or $59.99 billed annually, Professional at $49.99 per month or $399.99 billed annually. Homestyler's paid route is tiered by output quality instead: Pro from ₫90,294 per month brings 75 renders each at 2K and 4K, watermark removal, the ability to upload your own models, 100 AI credits and exports including a coloured floor plan, a bill of materials and construction drawings.
Know what the Homestyler escalation buys before you pay for Pro: Master, from ₫182,432 per month, makes 4K rendering unlimited, raises the own-model limit to 500, adds video quota and 300 AI credits, and lists you in the designer services directory. If you are a homeowner doing one renovation, Pro is the ceiling you need; the directory is aimed at people selling design services. Check whether you need the directory before you climb past Pro.
Renders: the limit that decides your tier
Homestyler also sells renders one at a time, which tells you how they price the work: 2K renders at ₫26,061 for one, ₫105,036 for five or ₫157,686 for ten, and 4K renders at ₫52,386, ₫157,686 and ₫262,986 for one, five and ten. If those numbers look steep, that is the argument for Pro: 75 renders each at 2K and 4K per month is a different order of magnitude from buying ten at a time.
For one room refresh, the free tier plus a handful of individually bought renders can come in cheaper than a subscription. Count how many images you actually need, then buy only those.

How to choose
- Decide which half of the job you need: drawing accurate walls and dimensions, or seeing the finished room. Planner 5D's free plan is strong on the first, Homestyler's on the second. Write it down before you sign up.
- Check the export before you invest hours. A floor plan only you can look at is less useful than one you can hand to a builder. Confirm what the free tier lets you save or share. Test one export while you are still on the free plan.
- Free rendering is not unlimited rendering. Homestyler's free tier gives unlimited 1K rendering, but 2K, 4K and watermark removal are paid. If the image is going anywhere public, check the watermark before you share a render.
- Measure before you pay. Draw the actual room with a tape measure first, on a free tier, and see how long it takes you. That tells you whether this is a one-evening job or something you will use monthly. Time one room before you commit to a subscription.
